Minister Avcı visits the construction site of Süleyman Çakır Anatolia High School

Minister Avcı accompanied by Eskişehir Governor Güngör Azim Tuna and delegation from the Ministry visited the construction site of Süleyman Çakır Anatolian High School. Minister Avcı received information about the ongoing construction and told reporters that Haji Süleyman Çakır is a renowned donator who had donated important charities to the city.

Noting that the old building which formerly played host to the Süleyman Çakır Anatolian High School for Girls was demolished, Avcı went on to say:

“The school building was demolished as it was old. In line with the last will and testament of Haji Süleyman Çakır, a larger, more modern school building will be in the service of our students. The new building shall consist of 27 classrooms, 2 computer laboratories, physics and chemistry labs, workshop, 2 libraries and 450 people capacity conference hall. 1000 students will have the opportunity to receive training. I wish that this donation will set an  example to all donators.

Campuses are transformed into “education complexes”

Answering the question of a journalist “The ministry has education campus projects. What can you tell us about it?”, Minister Avcı responded:

“We are revising the campus school projects in Turkey. We call campus schools as education complexes, now. We are examining majority of these projects. In terms of education, Eskişehir is an example city in regards to its physical and humane infrastructure. Don’t we have some failures? Of course, we do but as you can see from the Eskişehir example, we could correct them in a short period of time. Allah willing, there will be more new schools in Eskişehir. We have been carrying out an educational campaign here in this city. We have built many new school buildings not only in the center of the city but in the districts. Some of them are already inaugurated and some are going to be ready for inauguration very soon. Eskişehir has an important share in next year’s investment program. Allah willing we will complete all physical infrastructure requirements of Eskişehir.”

Later, Minister Avcı accompanied by Governor Tuna and Metropolitan Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen visited a donation at a park in the Kırmızıtoprak neighborhood.
